London

London, the most cosmopolitan English City

Ancient British Empire Capital, London has preserved its distinguished place regarding culture, communications, finances, shows and arts in general. The city has managed to keep a real global influence in those domains.

London welcomes a huge number of international organisations, institutions and companies, which strengthens its business leading position. The city is a major air destination, and a heart of overall transport. London is full of important buildings and famous sites, including museums, theatres, concerts auditoriums, art galleries, airports, stadiums, or even luxury hotels.

The city is the most populated in EU, with a population estimated to 7,5 million inhabitants, and an urban area containing about 10 million people (that is to say the third on in EU, behind Paris and the Ruhr in Germany). An important variety of peoples, cultures and religions composes Londoner population, which makes of London one of the most dynamic, thrilling and cosmopolitan megalopolises in the world. More than three hundred different languages are spoken in London, and this is why it's the most active city in the world, as far as linguistics are concerned.

The tourists best-known part of London is the West End, where are Oxford Street stores, theatres and quarters like Soho, Covent Garden, Mayfair, Piccadilly and Leicester Square, which is often associated to the Heart of England.
